Kerala:IGP Thiruvananthapuram range, Kerala gave clarification on Journalist Suhasini Raj who  reportedly working with New York Times, on her way to SabarimalaTemple,  was forced to return midway after being stopped by protesters today.

He said , "We'll give protection to everybody going up. It's our job,to give protection to all pilgrims.We'll put more manpower&secure all routes.She(journalist Suhasini Raj reportedly working

Police also said that  when she reached Marakoottam,she decided to come back after seeing the crowd and security personnel was ready to take her into temple.

Earlier two journalists of the New York Times, who managed to climb up the pathway to reach the well-known Sabarimala temple in Kerala this morning, were forced to call off their trek and turn back following a very big protest by those who are trying to insist on the centuries-old ban on the entry of women of reproductive age in the temple, which was crumbed by the Supreme Court of India last month.

Reports suggested that Delhi-based Suhasini Raj, along with her coworker, a foreign national, managed to walk off the Pamba gateway, just before the climb to the top of hill holy place were stopped midway by angry protesters who made a human wall before her.

Yesterday also the slew of women journalist faced the protest and thier vhicles were vandalized. They belong to News 18, NDTV and various news channels
