Muscat [Oman], Feb 12 (NT): Prime Minister Modi wrapped up Oman visit after visiting the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque. PM flew out of Oman, concluding the four-nation Middle East visit.

Yet another Indian connection with Oman, PM Narendra Modi visited the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque in Muscat, which is the biggest mosque in Oman. The mosque is built from 300,000 tonnes of Indian sandstone sculpted by 200 craftsmen from India.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday also visited the 125-year-old Shiva Temple in the Matrah area of Old Muscat.After offering his prayers, PM  met with a group of the Indian community outside the temple.

The Shiva Temple is one of the oldest temples in the Gulf region and is situated near the Sultan of Oman's palace and was built by the merchant community from Gujarat around 125 years ago. It was later renovated in 1999.

In his meeting with Deputy PM for International Relations and Cooperation Affairs of Oman, HH Sayyid Asa'ad bin Tariq Al  PM Narendra Modi discussed intensification of bilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interest to Extended Neighbourhood ties.

Earlier, Prime Minister Modi attended India-Oman business meet and met with Indian and Omani CEOs here today.

India and Oman on Sunday inked eight Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs), including deals on tourism and military cooperation.
