Operation All-out: 21 top terrorists on 'hit list' of security forces in JK

NEW DELHI: Following the operation all-out, Twenty-one top-ranked terrorists are now on the "hit list" of Indian security forces.

On a related note following this list Islamic State of Jammu and Kashmir (ISJK) chief Dawood Ahmed Salafi and three of his supporter were gunned down in a shootout at Nowshera village in south Kashmir on Friday.

The bodies of Dawood Ahmad Sofi who also known as Salafi and Burhan, the supremo of ISIS in J&K  was one of them. He involved in a number of terror attacks on policemen, snatching of weapons, stone-pelting cases. Along with him, three others were retrieved from the site on Friday.

In a media headlines, the encounter is being considered as a major success by the security forces. It was the first fighting operation after the imposition of governor's rule in J&K.

Security establishment sources asserted that major operations were now in progress to target 21 who belong the most wanted terrorist list. This list includes 11 from Hizbul Mujahideen, 7 from Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), 2 from Jaish-e-Muhammed (JeM) and 1 from Ansar Ghazwat ul-Hind (AGH).

According to TOI The focus of intelligence-gathering and counter-insurgency operations is primarily on these 21 terrorists. Six are placed in the highest category of 'A++'.

 The sources added that if these 21 can be eradicated, matters will significantly cool down. Worth mention here once a terrorist is categorized as A++, carrys a reward of Rs 12 lakh.
