Saina Nehwal defeated Thailand's Ratchanok Intanon by 17-21, 21-18, 21-12 in a match that lasted for 57 minutes.
In the mixed doubles event, the B Sumeeth Reddy and Ashwini Ponnappa were defeated by the Irfan Fadhilah and Weni Anggraini.
