Superstar Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan's daughter Suhana Khan shot her first ever magazine cover for Vogue's August issue. It was unveiled yesterday by proud dad Shah Rukh at the Vogue Beauty Awards 2018. She also gave the first ever interview of her life to Vogue and revealed many interesting details about her life.
Suhana was quite excited for the shoot. Also, she was so confident that it didn't seem like her first shoot or interview on a public platform. She said, "I absolutely loved shooting this cover. Especially the dancing shots. I love dancing. It was so much fun. I was excited when my parents brought it up. I wanted to say yes straight away, but they wanted me to think about it—this is a very public thing. They wanted me to gain confidence from the experience, not lose it."
Suhana has come to Mumbai on a short break. In the coming week, she will go back to her other life as a student in London. Speaking about staying so far away from her parents and home, Suhana said, "Moving away at age 16 was the best decision of my life. Living in a different environment and meeting so many new people helped me gain a lot of confidence. It’s about being able to do the little things, like walk on the street or take the train—stuff that was so hard to do in Mumbai. But living away also made me appreciate home so much more."
Suhana's thoughts on her studies and career resonate with that of her father. Shah Rukh has always maintained that his children will have to complete their education first, before pursuing any career. She said, "There’s so much to learn, and one way to do it is to start (working) early, but first I want to go to university and finish studies."
The princess of the Badshah has finally made her first step into the glamour world. Suhana Khan has debuted on the cover of Vogue, 2018.
Talking about her career choices, the star kid revealed, "I don’t think there was any one moment when I decided. Since I was young, I’d do all these accents and impressions. But my parents only realized I was serious about acting when they saw a performance of mine for the first time. I was playing Miranda in a school performance of The Tempest.”
It was reported, that while Suhana was giving her very first interview, Shah Rukh Khan walked inside the room and started massaging his daughter’s foot. He then said that he had already warned Suhana that the footwear she chose to wear were nonsense. Later he asked Suhana to pretend as if he wasn’t in the room and that he just wanted to hang out with her.
She shared her experience of being a celebrity’s daughter and asserted, "I realized quite early on that it was different for us. But I never really thought about my dad being famous. When I was about five, he would come and drop me to school, and people would point and stare. He wasn’t being addressed as Suhana’s dad, which is what I wanted. It confused me. He would want to hug me, and I would push him back in the car. I hated the attention, it made me very self-conscious.”
In her interview to the Vogue magazine, Suhana revealed that Shah Rukh is her best friend and there has been nothing that hey haven’t talked about.
Talking about the trolls, Suhana revealed, "At home, things are normal and everything is cool, but the challenges are outside. I still find it hard because people feel like they can judge you. Especially on social media. Pictures from my private Instagram account get leaked. There are so many people talking about you. They don’t know you, and they don’t know what they’re talking about, but they’re just talking. And that can mess with your self-confidence. I keep telling myself that haters are going to hate, but I can’t honestly say that I don’t get upset by it. It’s annoying, but I keep telling myself other people have bigger problems.”
Suhana has definitely come out as an extremely confident individual.
