As the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Aditynath’s crackdown upon the use of unfair means the state board examination, this year has registered a mass dropout of over 10 lakh students only under four days. This is certainly a high number in terms of students who have missed the UP board examination this year increased by 4 lakh after day 3. 

Not only this but the state government in 2018 year has taken strict steps to keep a check on cheating in the board examinations. Dozens of CCTV camera have been attached in examination  halls in addition to the use of STF and local intelligence to check activities of education mafia. This year a total of 66,37,018 students were registered to appear in this year’s UP board exams. This number includes 36,55,691 students who were to appear for the class 10th examinations, while 29,81,327 students were to appear for the class 12th board examination.

More than 1.8 lakh students were absent on the day one of the UP board examination 2018 on February 6. Over 6 lakh students had skipped examinations within three days and now over 10 lakh students which are more than previous year number skipped the exam over the last 4 days since the start of the exam, according to a report by Times of India. In the year 2017, the total number of school dropout in the board examination was a total of 5.35 lakh students, but this year the numbers are off the chart and still increasing.
