Lucknow: A massive fire broke out in a sari shop and a residential part above in the Kotwali police station area of ​​Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh. Nine members of the family were sleeping in the upper part at the time of the accident. The fire that broke out from the sari shop below quickly reached the upper floor and the elderly couple lost their lives due to it. With the help of police and neighbours, seven other members of the family were rescued.

Police said that information was received about the fire in Sari Center located in Naria Bazar of Kotwali police station area. As soon as the information was received, DM Ravinder Kumar and SSP Shivhari Meena along with the police of several police stations also reached the spot. With the help of fire brigade and local people, all the 9 people trapped in the fire were somehow pulled out. In this, seven people including Ajay and Sanjay were rescued safely, while Shriram Agarwal (70) and his wife Shanti Devi (68) suffered serious burns. Both were sent for treatment. There he was declared brought dead by the doctors.

In the rescue work, Kotwali SHO Tulsi Ram Pandey got injured and two fire brigade personnel Harishan Singh and another also got burnt. Mr Pandey was also sent for medical treatment where he was finding it difficult to breathe due to heavy fumes filling his lungs, after which he has been put on oxygen sport. Both the policemen are also being treated. The fire has now been completely controlled at the spot.
