New Delhi: On Sunday, many women have sat on dharna along with their young girls at the gate of Jamia Millia Islamia University campus. The young girls along with their mothers came here to protest the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). Many of these women, who opposed the Citizenship Amendment Act, were former Jamia alumni. On Sunday morning, these women arrived at Gate number 7 of Jamia University before all the other protesters.

Ayesha, a former Jamia student, has told the media that she has brought her 9-year-old daughter Rehana along, so that Rihanna can also get the courage and knowledge of such a serious issue. Nearly all the women who came to register their protest were accompanied by young children. The age of these children was only between 3 to 10 years. Another woman named Sofia, who came to the demonstration, has told that she has arrived here with her two young girls, aged 3 and 6.

While women continued to shout slogans against the Citizenship Amendment Act, the girls held anti-CAA and NRC posters in their little hands to support their mothers. The women's group also raised slogans against PM Modi, Delhi Police, CAA and NRC. These dozens of pairs of mother and daughters continued their sit-in for about 3 hours on the open road.
