Ranchi: Gaurishankar Prasad, a resident of Paramarthanagar in Tupudana in Ranchi district of Jharkhand, committed suicide by hanging himself. The incident occurred late Tuesday. Gourishankar retired from a government department. It is being told that after retirement, the elder had given money to a contractor to build the house, but the contractor neither built nor returned the money. The elderly used to live under stress regarding this.
It is being feared that this is why he committed suicide. After receiving the information, the police of Tupudana OP reached the spot on Wednesday morning. The police took possession of the body. After performing the panchnama, the police body has been rimmed for post-mortem. In this case, the elder's son Suryakant Prasad has lodged an FIR against the contractor Ajay Ram at Tupudana OP.
Suryakant told the police that his father wanted to build a house with retirement money. He gave Rs 13 lakh to build a house to Ajay Ram, a contractor from Arenda village in Khunti. He also asked Ajay several times to start the housework. He was constantly evasive. Gauri Shankar used to be very tense about this. Surajkant fears that his father may have committed suicide for this reason. Police is currently under investigation.
