Patna: To make the passport verification work easier and more transparent, the M Passport app will be launched in Bihar from March 1. The Daroga, DSP and ASP of all districts have been trained for passport verification with the M Passport App. Training is over on 8 February. One tablet each is being given in all police stations. Regional passport officer Praveen Mohan Sahai has told that work is going on to distribute 1350 tablets in the police stations of the state.

Currently, passport verification takes at least 21 days. With the help of M Passport app, verification work will be completed in less than 10 days. Right now it takes at least 21 days to go from the police headquarters to the SP office and then to the police station. Through the M Passport app, the police will only check the criminal record of the applicant. Verification will be done on the basis of this.

The police will not come to your house for verification. This will also curb corruption. To understand the specifics of passport verification with the M Passport App, the DGP launched the M Passport App on 23 September 2019. Work on the M Passport app started as a pilot project at Kotwali and Pataliputra police stations in Patna. After its success, verification of M Passport app is being done in each police station of all districts.
