In Goa, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) contested the Assembly elections in 2017 as well, but Kejriwal's party did not manage to win a single seat at that time. This time the Trinamool Congress (TMC) is also going to try its luck for the first time in the Goa Assembly elections. Under which TMC has included many former Congress leaders in its party. Till now it was being speculated that an alliance of AAP and TMC has been done for Goa Assembly elections, but in the past, AAP President Arvind Kejriwal had ruled out the possibility of a pre-poll alliance with TMC.
Kejriwal had said that in the face of a fractured mandate, he may consider an alliance with non-BJP parties after the assembly election results. He had announced that the Aam Aadmi Party would field its candidates in all the 40 seats in the Goa Assembly and the party's face for the chief minister's post would be announced in the coming days.
