Ahmedabad: The Gir Somnath police in Gujarat have arrested Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Bhagu Wala in connection with a rape case. The police are waiting for the AAP leader's corona report to come, after which he will be officially arrested. Police Inspector Sunil Israni has said that the 23-year-old woman had lodged a complaint against Bhagu Wala on Friday (September 23, 2022), alleging that the AAP leader had raped her.
After the complaint, the medical examination of the girl was done and action was taken by registering a case under Section 376 of the IPC. Police say that after the corona report of the accused comes out, he will be produced in court and he will be detained and further interrogation will be done. Bhagu Wala, who was implicated in a rape case, was earlier the vice-president in the state Congress and then joined the AAP recently. He has a film production company named Vishwas Film Creation. Bhagu Wala is accused of trapping a model in the name of casting on the basis of this film company. He then called her to his flat and raped her.
It is mentioned in the complaint that the accused lured the young woman that he would get her a modelling job. He then called the girl to his flat and raped her. The police had started their investigation after registering a case in this case and now it is reported that the AAP leader has been arrested.
