Singing reality show Indian Idol has been in the news for quite some time now. The controversy over the show is increasing day by day as there is a new drama on the show day in and day out to increase the TRP of the show. Like Sawai Bhatt's tragedy story or the love angle between Arunita Kanjilal and Pawandeep Rajan. Indian Idol is in controversy over many such things. Now the show's first winner Abhijeet Sawant took a dig at the makers of the show saying that they focus on poverty more than talent. He said in a recent statement that "If you watch regional reality shows, the audience will hardly know about the contestant's background". In his statement after leaving the show, he said, "I was asked to praise everyone before the show. I did what I was told. I had asked him to give me a part of the script in advance but nothing like that happened".
