Mumbai: Mumbai received heavy rain last Wednesday and caused a four-storey building to collapse in Malwani area. Eleven people are said to have died in the accident. Mumbai Mayor Kishori Pednekar has now reacted to the incident. Recently, she said, "Strict action will be taken against the culprits by inspecting the illegal construction. "The culprits are being traced," she said, indicating strict action. Shee further said, "The BMC and the Collector were given full information on their behalf".

Additional CP of Malad West Dilip Sawant has also made a statement. In his statement, he said, "This incident is very unfortunate. One G+2 building collapsed on another building. Eleven people were killed in the accident. At the same time, he also said, "18 people were rescued from the debris, out of which 11 died. Further action will be taken on the basis of the police investigating the case properly".

Apart from him, Joint CP Vishwas Nangre Patil said, "A case of culpable homicide not amounting to murder has been registered against the building owner and contractor under Section 304(2) of the IPC. In the case, the police official said that it was only after the recent storm that the duo had made some changes in the structure of the building.
