Senior Congress leader and MP from Murshidabad district Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury on Thursday alleged that most of the quarantine centers in West Bengal do not have proper facilities, which is the reason behind the recent increase in the number of covid-19 cases in the state. That "unhealthy and inhumane" living conditions have brought to light incidents of people fleeing quarantine centers. In the last few days, people complaining about inhuman living conditions have received reports of running away from quarantine centers. The situation is so bad that if a normal person is kept in the center, then he is bound to run away.

In his statement, Chaudhary said that the state government should take measures to establish more quarantine centers and strengthen facilities there during the lockdown of the last two months. He said, but it turned upside down. The government continued to do politics on the issue of migrant laborers. Initially he hesitated to bring them back and now when he was forced, he left them only for himself.

Apart from this, Adhir said that the situation is so bad that the number of positive cases in the state is increasing due to poor facilities in quarantine centers. Referring to Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's statement that more than 8.5 lakh migrant workers have returned to the state, Chaudhary said that "the figures only reflect the serious unemployment situation in the state". He said that the Trinamool Congress government in West Bengal has failed to create employment opportunities and due to this, lakhs of people had to go out of the state in search of livelihood.
