Chandigarh: Section 144 (Section 144) has been imposed in Karnal, Haryana. The decision comes in the wake of a call by farmers' unions on September 7 to protest. Farmers' unions have planned to organize a rally in Karnal to protest against the August 28 lathicharge (Lathicharge) on farmers.

In fact, on the day Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar was scheduled to attend the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) meeting in Karnal, the police had pelted sticks at the farmers protesting against him. Farmers had gathered at Bastar Toll Plaza (Bastara Toll Plaza) to protest the visit of CM Manohar Lal Khattar. At least 10 farmers were injured in the operation. On the other hand, a video went viral on social media immediately after the incident in which Karnal Sub-Divisional Magistrate Ayush Sinha was heard ordering the police to "break the heads of protesters".

Following the incident, the United Kisan Morcha (SKM) demanded the Haryana government to register a case against Ayush Sinha on charges of murder in protest against three agricultural laws brought by the central government in 2020.
