Lawyers will not go to Patna High Court till May 17

Patna: Advocates of Patna High Court will not go to court till May 17. This decision has been taken by three associations of advocates. Along with this, the Advocates Association has appealed to the High Court administration to continue hearing of special cases through e-filing and video conferencing, and not to pass adverse orders in the absence of the advocate.

It is noteworthy that, in view of the fast-growing cases of Coronavirus, the central government has increased the lockdown from May 3 to May 17. In such a situation, the lawyers have also decided not to go to court in view of the decision of the Center. Earlier, on Thursday, Bihar Director General of Police (DGP) Gupteshwar Pandey had an important meeting with high officials of the state.

The DGP held a review meeting at the court after the lockdown. After the meeting, Gupteshwar Pandey said that after May 3, entry will be available in all the courts of the state including Patna High Court on the pass itself. The DGP said that upon opening of the court, the complainants will be allowed to enter with special security. Not only this, there will be a corona infection free system in the court premises.
