Aero India reflects the approach of 'New India': PM Modi

Bangalore: At Aero India 2023 event on Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi remarked that Aero India embodies the philosophy of the "New India" and its growth potential.

PM Modi remarked in his remarks during the major air show's opening day in Bangalore, "Bangalore's sky is starting to bear witness to New India's potential. Bangalore's sky is bearing witness to the reality of a New India's new heights. The country is reaching and even exceeding new heights today " he said, adding that  the presence of around 100 nations at the event shows that the world's trust in India has increased manifold.

"An illustration of India's growing capabilities is Aero India. The fact that there are almost 100 different countries here indicates that India has gained more international respect. Participating are more than 700 exhibitors from India and other countries. It has broken every previous record, "he said.

The prime minister added that in the past, people used to view Aero India as nothing more than a show, but attitudes have changed recently.

"The fresh perspective of a New India is reflected in Aero India. There was a period when people only saw it as a performance. The country's view has evolved during the last few years. Today, it serves as both a show and a demonstration of India's increasing power. It emphasises our confidence as well as the size of the Indian defence industry. India is now more than just a market; it might also be a defence partner "he added.


PM Modi also urged young people to use their technological expertise to advance the nation's defence industry.
"I implore young people to apply their technological know-how to strengthen the nation's defence industry and foster new technologies. India is now viewed by the rest of the globe as a prospective defence partner as well as a market for defence products "Modi the PM said.

MSMEs and start-ups are among the Indian businesses taking part in the exhibition, which will highlight the nation's expanding aerospace and defence capabilities as well as the development of specialised technology.

Airbus, Boeing, Dassault Aviation, Lockheed Martin, Israel Aerospace Industry, BrahMos Aerospace, Army Aviation, HC Robotics, SAAB, Safran, Rolls Royce, Larsen & Toubro, Bharat Forge Limited, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL), and BEML Limited are among the major exhibitors at Aero India 2023.
