Cape Town: Since the global epidemic coronavirus cases have increased, hospitals across the continent of Africa are facing acute shortage of intensive care beds and ventilators these days. This is to say WHO means World Health Organization. On Thursday, the WHO issued a statement saying that hospitals in 43 countries of Africa have less than 5,000 intensive care beds.

He said, 'According to the current situation in African countries, in countries where the infection has spread, there are only five beds for one million people, while in comparison, in European countries for one million people. There are 4000 beds. Apparently, treatment of coronavirus often requires intensive care unit, where patients are helped to breathe through ventilators. But according to WHO data, only 2000 ventilators are available in the public health body for 41 countries in Africa.

WHO Director in Africa Matashidiso Moiti said, "There is a huge lack of treatment facilities in hospitals to combat coronavirus cases in Africa." Let us tell you that in Africa, the total number of infected so far is 11,500, while 570 people have also died. Compared to other countries of the world, there have been fewer cases of corona infection so far. In many countries, lockdown has been announced in many cities due to the fear of the epidemic and in many cities, to prevent the infection of corona.
