After 51 days of unrest, authorities lifted curfew from Kashmir

Srinagar, On Monday, After 51 days, authorities lifted a curfew from Kashmir since the ongoing unrest began on July 9.

According to a police official, "Curfew has been lifted from the entire Valley. But, it will remain in force in Pulwama town and in areas under the jurisdiction of Nowhatta and M.R.Gunj police stations in Srinagar".

On Sunday evening, a high level security meeting held, in which the decision to lift curfew was taken.

Meanwhile, separatists here continued their protest despite lifting of the curfew.

All senior separatist leaders have been placed under detention in Srinagar city.
