Amala Akkineni is an Indian movie actress, Bharatanatyam, and animal welfare activist. Amala Akkineni is mainly active in South cinema, she has also contributed to some Hindi movies. She has managed to win two South Filmfare Awards, one for Malayalam Cinema and the other for Telugu Cinema. Amala is the co-founder of the non-profit organisation The Blue Cross of Hyderabad.
Amala Was Born On 12 September 1968 in Kolkata, West Bengal, India. Amala graduated with a degree of "Bachelor of Fine Arts in Bharatanatyam" from Kalakshetra College of Fine Arts. Amala is married to Telugu actor Akkineni Nagarjuna and has a son named Akkineni Akhil.
Amala started her acting career with T Rajendra's Telugu movie "Mythili Ennai Kaathali" which was a box office hit. She received the Filmfare Award - for the Malayalam movie "Ulladakkam". However, after marriage, she said goodbye to the world of movies, and then in the year 2012, she once again returned to the acting world.
