Mumbai: In Maharashtra, several districts began to impose restrictions after a surge in new cases of the covid virus in the past few days. Three districts of Maharashtra, Pune, Nagpur, Mumbai are more affected by the covid virus infection. In Nagpur, a lockdown has also been directed for a week. After which it is now being discussed that Pune is going to be put on lockdown soon. The mayor's statement on the lockdown in Pune has come to the fore.

The mayor of Pune has spoken that there is no plan to put a full lockdown in the city. Talking to the media, Mayor Murlidhar Mohole said that we have created micro-contribution zones, increased screening, and investigation. 'I don't think there is a need to put a complete lockdown right now.' However, he said that health authorities in the district have also intensified screening and testing after the case of covid.

More than 3500 new cases of covid-19 have been heard in Pune on Tuesday. According to the state government's health bulletin, the total number of infections from covid in the district has reached 4, 10347. On Tuesday, 12 more people died from covid after which the death figure in the district has reached 9,440.

Maharashtra contributes 59 percent in active cases: Pune is the first with 26,468 active cases till Tuesday when it comes to districts in Maharashtra. After which Mumbai is third in the second and 13309 cases with 18,114 active cases. There are 12680 active cases in Thane and 8035 in Nashik. In this way, 59 percent of the covid active cases in the country are from Maharashtra. In 2 districts of Maharashtra, Pune and Mumbai have seen a sharp increase in the covid case. As of now, there were 18474 active cases in Pune, 9973 in Mumbai, and 12724 in Nagpur on March 11.
