Guwahati: A massive number of youth including female candidates appeared for the online common entrance exam of Agniveer recruitment, said a release issued by the Indian Army today, April 25.

"The fresh  recruitment procedure of online entrance examination as the preliminary  stage has attracted youth from Assam and Arunachal Pradesh. A massive number of youths including female candidates appeared for the Agniveer examination this year", Lt Colonel Mahendra Rawat said.

A computer-based, online common entrance exam was introduced as the first phase in the Indian Army's transformation of the recruitment process for agnaveerssas per report. At 375 test centres spread across 176 cities in India, the online CEE for qualified registered applicants has begun. According to the government, the examinations began on April 17 and will last until April 26, 2023.

The announcement went on to say that with a better technological threshold, the advanced methodology would ensure that there is a greater emphasis on the cognitive component during selection and that there are less crowds at recruitment rallies, making them easier to manage.

According to a previous press release from the Indian Army, the decision to hold the exam online was made in order to stay up with the pace of technology and fulfil the spirit of Digital India.

This represents a significant change in the Indian Army's hiring practises. As per a press statement from the Indian Army, the nation's technology proficiency has substantially increased, and with increased digital awareness, the youth are now enabled to take online exams.

Three stages will be carried out  for the recruitment process starting this year. All candidates will take the online CEE (Common Entrance Exam) during stage one. The shortlisted candidates will be contacted for recruiting rallies in stage two, when they will be required to take a physical fitness test and a physical measurement test at places determined by the appropriate Army recruiting Office. The third and final stage involves a medical test for the chosen individuals. Following that, the successful candidates' final merit list will be announced.

The test would be given in the North East Zone in all seven states at 26 locations spread over 14 cities. According to the Indian Army, the 14 cities are Aizawl in Mizoram, Dimapur and Kohima in Nagaland, Aizawl in Mizoram, Naharlagun in Arunachal Pradesh, Dibrugarh, Guwahati, Jorhat, Silchar, and Tezpur in Assam, Imphal, Ukhrul, and Churachandpur in Manipur, Shillong in Meghalaya, and Agartala in Tripura.
