New Delhi: The agitation by farmers sitting against agricultural laws on the borders of the national capital Delhi has completed 53rd day. Several rounds of talks between the central government and the farmers have also been inconclusive. Now, the next meeting has been scheduled on 19th January. The farmers' organisations are adamant on the demands to withdraw the three laws, the Modi government is not willing to retreat. Farmers' agitation continues in severe cold wave conditions.

Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar has said that the Supreme Court has stayed the implementation of the laws, I think, the question of stubbornness is over. We expect the farmers to talk on one clause on 19th January and keep the options before the government, apart from repealing the laws. Tomar said that the Farmers' Union is not willing to understand and it is a constant attempt to repeal the laws. When the Government of India makes a law, it is for the entire country, these laws agree with most of the farmers, scholars, scientists, people working in the agriculture sector.

Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar said that the Government of India interacted with the Farmers Union for several hours, not once, 9 times, we have consistently requested the Farmers Union to discuss the law clause and tell them where there is the objection. The Government is ready to consider and change that.
