Gwalior: Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar while addressing the farmers conference held in Gwalior said that efforts are being made to confuse the farmers of Punjab. On the other hand, farmers like you have come here to support the agricultural laws made by the Narendra Modi government.

He further said, "I want to welcome and greet you all. When Prime Minister Narendra Modi implemented demonetisation, Congress said that the countdown of this government has started. When GST was implemented, people said that this government will not come back to power, but in the 2019 elections, the people of the country again put him in the post of Prime Minister with more seats than in the previous elections."

Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar said that the Swaminathan Committee said that the minimum support price (MSP) should be declared by adding 50% profit on the cost of the farmer. The Swaminathan Committee made its recommendations to the UPA government in 2006 but the decision was not taken. But the Modi government has done the task of declaring MSP by adding 50% profit on the cost.
