Agriculture Ministry to organise nationwide campaign for farmers from Apr 25 to 30

New Delhi: The Union Agriculture Ministry will hold a week-long nationwide campaign at the regional level till from today to Saturday (April 30) to highlight the achievements made in the agriculture sector since independence and to raise awareness about the numerous programmes administered by the Centre for farmers' benefit.

According to an official announcement, the campaign 'Kisan Bhagidari, Prathmikta Hamari' would be organised as part of the government's 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav' in collaboration with other ministries and government departments. Farmers' fairs and field exhibitions on natural farming will be held at each Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) as part of the campaign, which begins on April 25.

Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar will kick off a nationwide crop insurance session organised by the common service centre (CSC).The Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana -National Rural Livelihood Mission, in collaboration with the Ministry of Rural Development, will have a discussion on agro-ecological and livestock practises.

The commerce ministry and the Ministry of Food Processing Industries will host a webinar on One District One Product (ODOP). There will also be a National Atmanirbhar Bharat Conclave with 75 selected farmers and entrepreneurs. ODOP-based workshops, webinars, and awareness programmes regarding various departments' schemes will be held during the campaign by the Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, and Dairying.

More than one crore farmers and stakeholders are expected to participate in the campaign across the country, both offline and online.
