Christian Mitchell, accused in the AgustaWestland scam, has filed an application in a special court. He demanded to meet a foreign lawyer. The court rejected the application saying that according to the rules, foreign lawyers cannot be allowed to have a legal meeting with a prisoner.

The special court rejected the plea on the matter saying that the foreign lawyer can meet a prisoner in Tihar like a friend, but a legal meeting cannot be allowed. The Delhi Jail Manual allows only those lawyers who are registered under the Advocates Act to have a legal meeting with the inmate.

Christian Michel had filed an application in the special court and demanded that he be allowed to meet the lawyer of his country Britain. The CBI had opposed Michel's plea that it could not be done as per the rules. CBI and Enforcement Directorate have filed charge sheets in the AgustaWestland scam on the basis of their investigation. Mitchell has been charged with playing the role of middleman in this case and taking about 225 crore rupees.
