Ahoi Ashtami comes every year and people observe this Ashtami fast for the long life of the child and its prosperity. This fast is observed in Kartik month and this time it is going to be kept on 8 November 2020. This fast is also called Kartik Krishna Ashtami fast. It is believed that by observing the fast of Ahoi Ashtami, the mother gives happiness and blesses the well being of the children. In this fast, along with Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati, Goddess Ahoi is also worshipped. On this day, mothers observe the nirjala fast and look at the stars and then open the fast. Ashtami Date ends: 06 November at 0650 AM

How to worship on the day of Ahoi Ashtami - On this day, an effigy of eight brackets is made on the cloth from cow dung or by painting and the figures of its children are made. On this day, mothers observe fast for the entire day and then worship in the evening or Pradosh Kaal. It is said that on this day, people fill water in the Karve used in Karvachauth and in the evening, after worshipping Goddess by law, they offer fruits, flowers and sweets. After that, the fast is opened at night. After hearing the fast story of Goddess Ahoi, they take food and water. After that, the water of that Karve is sprinkled all over the house on Diwali. It is believed that 'worshipping Goddess Ahoi and offering milk and rice to them is auspicious.'
