Delhi to hold Laxmi Puja without firecrackers says CM Arvind Kejriwal

The Kejriwal led AAP government decided to conduct laxmi puja and celebrate diwali together without firecrackers. Pointing the rising pollution level in the national Capital Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday (November 5) appealed to people not to burst firecrackers. CM has invited the Delhiites to join him and his ministers in a 'Laxmi Pujan' programme to be organised by the AAP government this Diwali at 7.39 pm on November 14.

CM said, "we will celebrate Diwali together and won't burst firecrackers in any condition. There will be a wonderful atmosphere and good vibes as two crore people will perform Laxmi Pujan. It will lead to well being in each household". Delhi is currently facing two issues one the COVID-19 pandemic and the other one is rising air pollution. As an effort to deal with the situation CM added the government is taking all efforts to combat the situation, he adds "The COVID-19 situation is deteriorating in Delhi due to rising air pollution".

As a throwback memory, last year the Delhi government hosted a laser show at Connaught Place during Diwali and the people celebrated the festival together. The national capital has been witnessing a fresh surge in coronavirus cases over the last few days considered as third wave by the experts.
