AIADMK will fight bypolls separately: party officials

AIADMK is the party with the highest infighting in Tamil Nadu. The single leadership, including Sasikala’s visit and raid on former ministers, has been causing occasional buzz. The recent visit to Delhi to address these issues has been the talk of the town. In this context, the AIADMK has turned its attention to the forthcoming rural local government elections in 9 districts namely Kanchipuram, Chengalpattu, Vellore, Ranipettai, Tirupati, Villupuram, Kallakurichi, Tirunelveli and Tenkasi.

Elections are scheduled to be held by September 15. In turn, the Election Commission is involved in the appointment of election officials. In the next phase, the Tamil Nadu government plans to hold local government elections in all districts for municipal, municipal and corporation areas by next December. According to party officials, the AIADMK will contest the by-elections separately.

But political observers say the AIADMK leadership expects the BJP's help in overcoming the party's top-level crisis. As a result, the AIADMK leadership is in dire straits, unable to comply with the demands of the executive. In such a tumultuous environment, a consultative meeting of senior executives is being held at the AIADMK headquarters in Raipet, Chennai at 10 am today. AIADMK coordinator O. Panneerselvam and co-coordinator Edappadi Palanisamy are leading this. It is learned that only 9 district secretaries have been invited to the meeting for the forthcoming rural local body elections. It has been decided to hold a consultative meeting for 4 consecutive days.
