Air India's First A320neo Takes Off on Delhi-Bengaluru Route

Tata Group's Air India announced the launch of India's first narrow-body aircraft, the Airbus A320neo, on the Delhi-Bengaluru route. The airline's press release highlighted the new cabin interiors and livery of the aircraft.

The A320neo, registered as VT-RTN, arrived in Delhi from Airbus Headquarters in Toulouse on July 7. Its inaugural commercial flight, AI813, flew from Delhi to Bengaluru. Air India plans to operate three more A320neo flights on the same route throughout the day, with plans to introduce the aircraft on more routes within India over time.

The aircraft features three cabin classes: Business, Premium Economy, and Economy.

The Business Class cabin includes eight seats, each with a 40-inch seat pitch, 7-inch recline, leg rest, footrest, movable armrest, 4-way adjustable headrest, extendable tray table, personal electronic device holder, USB charging port, and AC power outlets.

The Premium Economy cabin has 24 extra legroom seats arranged in a 3-3 configuration across four rows. Each seat comes with a 4-way adjustable headrest, 32-inch seat pitch, 4-inch recline, personal electronic device holder, and USB charging port.

The Economy class includes 132 seats arranged in a 3-3 configuration. Each seat offers a 28-29-inch seat pitch, 4-inch recline, personal electronic device holder, coat hook, and USB charging port.
