New Delhi: Now, Hajis returning to their homeland after completing Haj pilgrimage will be allowed to fly Abe Jamjam on air India flight. However, it is a matter of fact that Hajj pilgrims must meet the conditions of the airlines to bring Abe Jamjam. Some pilgrims who had completed their Haj pilgrimage in the past had been denied to bring Abe Jamjam on an Air India flight. After that, there was a lot of uproar over the issue.

Following the uproar, Air India has responded to the directives regarding non-carrying of Jamjam Can in flight number AI-966 and AI-964. Air India has made it clear that there is no ban on taking Abe Jamjam-filled can on board the flight. Travellers can fly by taking a can filled with Jamjam water inside the baggage allowance fixed on the flight. The airline has also issued a tweet apologizing for the inconvenience caused to Haj pilgrims over the issue.

According to a senior Air India official, any passenger on any international flight is allowed to carry goods up to a total of 32 kg. It can carry 25 kg of luggage as registered baggage and 7 kg luggage handbag. Pilgrims visiting Hajj can also bring a can Abe-Jamjam can with their luggage within this prescribed weight limit.
