New Delhi: India's National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval joined the ongoing Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) in Dushanbe, Tajikistan's capital. He also held a more than two-hour-long meeting with Russian NSA. On the sidelines of the SCO meeting, Ajit Doval held a more than 2-hour-long meeting with Russian NSA Nikolai Patrushev.

During the meeting, the two discussed bilateral, regional and global importance. In addition, NSA Ajit Doval also signed a joint protocol at the SCO meeting. Apart from India, NSA from Afghanistan, Pakistan, Russia, China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan also participated in the meeting. Tell us that the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, that is, the SCO, has eight member countries.

This includes Russia, China, India, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. SCO has been trying to enhance socio-economic cooperation between its member countries. Its role came into existence after the dissolution of the Soviet Union in 1991. India became a full-time member of the organization in 2017. Earlier his role was as observer country.
