Lucknow: After the cancellation of the assembly membership of Samajwadi Party's (SP) strong Muslim leader and sitting MLA Azam Khan, for the first time, the reaction of party chief Akhilesh Yadav has come to the fore. He said that Azam Khan sahib is the target of the BJP government, on whom fake cases are being registered every day. They are being harassed in every way.

SP chief and former UP CM Akhilesh said that Mohammad Azam Khan sahib stands in the eyes of the BJP government because he is a staunch opponent of communal forces and is committed to democracy and socialism. He has a special interest in creative work. He has been a leader of a constant struggle for the constitution and secularism. Akhilesh Yadav said that the BJP is annoyed that Azam Khan made a high-end educational institution Maulana Mohammad Ali Jauhar University in Rampur, which was sure to give an opportunity to the youth of this area to progress. Instead of praising this big work, the BJP government was bent on destroying the university itself. Do not know how many false cases were imposed on Azam sahib. BJP wants to demolish Maulana Mohammad Ali Jauhar University.

Akhilesh further said that, when the Mahaparv of Kumbh came into the state, Azam Khan, as a minister in the SP government, oversaw the preparations for the Kumbh and expanded the facilities of the people. Its sages also praised it. On the successful completion of Kumbh, Harvard University prepared a special report, in which the SP government, CM Akhilesh Yadav and the then Urban Development Minister Mohammad Azam Khan were praised and they were presented their Harvard University for presentation in this regard.
