Lucknow: Samajwadi Party (SP) national president and former Uttar Pradesh CM Akhilesh Yadav on Wednesday lashed out at the BJP government in UP and the Centre. Referring to the Lakhimpur Kheri incident, Akhilesh asked if it was PM Modi's 'democracy' to drive on farmers. Talking to the media, Akhilesh Yadav said that PM Narendra Modi goes abroad and says that India has a live democracy. But here the farmers are being tromped by car, is this their democracy?

Akhilesh Yadav further said that what happened in Lakhimpur is an example of dictatorship. This was not even seen in Hitlerism. The SP chief said what happened in Lakhimpur was injustice to the farmers. The government is full of ego. Minister of State for Home Ajay Mishra threatened that his video is going viral. Akhilesh further said that the Union government should take the resignation of minister Ajay Mishra Teni at the earliest and prosecute the culprits for murder.
 
When Akhilesh Yadav was questioned that Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi had alleged that there was no good arrangement and no cleanliness at the place where he was taken into custody in Sitapur. Akhilesh said he would not comment on it as there was no arrangement even where he was kept.
