Akhilesh Yadav Urges UNITY Alliance to Overcome BJP's Politics in Haryana Elections

Chandigarh: In a statement made on Friday, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav expressed confidence in the UNITY Alliance's ability to create a historic change in the upcoming Haryana Assembly elections. Yadav emphasized the need to transcend personal ambitions to counter what he described as the BJP's "crooked and selfish politics."

Yadav asserted that the Samajwadi Party is prepared to support any member of the INDIA Alliance who can effectively challenge the BJP's "negative, communal, and divisive" approach in Haryana. His remarks come as Congress and other alliance members are engaged in seat-sharing negotiations, with intense discussions ongoing.

In a post on X, Yadav stressed that this election cycle demands "sacrifice and selflessness" rather than seeking political gain. He urged that the focus should be on public welfare, not personal interests, declaring that there is no place for selfishness in the pursuit of public service.

He reiterated the importance of prioritizing the overall victory of the INDIA bloc over individual party interests, stating, "It's not about the seat; it's about victory." Yadav highlighted the need to address the issues faced by Haryana's residents and move beyond what he termed as the BJP's "corrupt and manipulative politics," which he claims have hindered the state's development over the past decade.

The Haryana Assembly elections will take place on October 5, with vote counting scheduled for October 8.
