Lucknow: Akhilesh Yadav, the leader of the Samajwadi Party (SP), addressed an election rally in Aligarh ahead of the second phase of the Lok Sabha elections. He launched a scathing attack on the BJP, accusing them of harboring criminals and corrupt individuals. Yadav criticized the BJP for neglecting the welfare of farmers and youth, claiming that one-third of their lives have been ruined by BJP policies. He accused the BJP of promoting a culture of corruption and deceit, stating that the people of Delhi-Lucknow are disenchanted with the ruling government.
During the rally, Yadav claimed that the BJP government has compromised the integrity of examinations by leaking question papers beforehand. He warned that if the BJP remains in power, police jobs would be temporary, with the tenure reduced to three years. Yadav also announced plans for an India alliance, promising free data and flour if his party comes to power. Additionally, he pledged to waive farmers' loans and ensure Minimum Support Price (MSP) for agricultural produce.
Referring to recent electoral trends, Yadav stated, "The wind that has blown from the West, the voting done by the people of the West, has declared that the BJP is going to be wiped out this time." He urged the people of Aligarh to unite against the BJP and thwart their agenda. Yadav criticized the government for failing to double farmers' income as promised, citing data that indicates farmers have faced increased financial distress since the BJP came to power. He highlighted the issue of farmer suicides and demanded accountability from the government.
