JEDDAH: Akshay Kumar brought more Bollywood star power to the Red Sea International Film Festival, and the in-demand actor and producer sat down with 'Deadline' media where he announced his long-awaited series with Amazon will start shooting next year.

The project's specifics were kept under wraps, until Kumar revealed to Deadline that the script was written, the title -- officially titled "The End--might change, and that production would start sometime in 2019.

With this project, Kumar enters the world of streaming series for the first time. According to Kumar, "it's more on the science fiction" side of things with "a lot of action in it, I can say that." Akshay  also disclosed that he is developing a movie about sex education, a subject he believes has to be discussed. I like doing social films which can make a difference, particularly in my country and in anybody's life," he said, reeport 'Deadline'.

"I basically select those subjects and I make a movie, but I do it in a very commercial style, so there are definitely music, comedy, drama, and tragedy in it. I thus adapt true stories and disguise them with everything commercial "Akshay threw in.

While the theatrical industries in both Bollywood and Hollywood are experiencing the effects of the post-Covid era, he observed that it was up to the industry to be wiser and work harder to draw consumers back into theatres. He declared, "I believe we must try much harder than we did earlier, we must try harder to get them out."

We are to blame, he continued. "We need to understand what they want and stop blaming the audience for everything because a lot of people have blamed the audience and are saying they don't want to come out, but I think it's our turn to appease them and bring them out," said the performer.
