In the recent episode of Koffee with Karan when the host of the show asked about the trolls Akshay Kumar faced the actor said  “I don’t go much online and read about things. Actually not much. I have been lucky with that. It’s mostly about Canada or something like that”. Karan reacted, “The trolls call you Canada Kumar.” Akshay then replied, “Yeah Canada Kumar. Okay call me that”

 Karn Johar also asked him about the criticism he faced for working with actresses much younger than him the actor said, “Because they are jealous”. rk with them? And do I look like 55? So I don’t understand the problem. They are just jealous. Some media person will write and some trolling will happen. But who cares. Just take it from one ear and remove it from the other.” In the show the actor was also asked with whom he would share hid Khiladi title the actress said, "if you had to share the Khiladi title with a Gen Z actor, who would it be?" The OG Khiladi of Bollywood quickly answered, "Tiger Shroff".

In 2019, after Akshay applied for Canada citizenship he got brutally trolled on social media. India follows the concept of single citizenship, so if a person takes the citizenship of another country he loses the citizenship of India and therefore the actor is getting trolled and trolls also call him Canada Kumar. On the work front, the actor will next feature in Aanand L Rai's 'Raksha Bandhan' co-starring Bhumi Pednekar. The film has been slated to hit the theatres on August 11, 2022. Apart from 'Raksha Bandhan', Akshay also has 'Gorkha', 'Capsule Gill', 'Ram Setu', 'Selfie' and more lined up for release.
