Alia Bhatt after a short break has begun shooting for Meghna Gulzar's Raazi which is based on Harinder Sikka's bestselling novel, Calling Sehmat. The movie tells the story of a Kashmiri spy (Alia Bhatt) who gets married to a Pakistani Army Officer (Vicky Kaushal). 

Recently, there were reports that the makers will recreate Kashmir in Mumbai. But now the source revealed, "Kashmir is definitely one of the places where Raazi will be shot. The novel by Harinder Sikka — on which the film is based — is largely based in Kashmir. If there were security issues, Meghna would never have agreed to film the novel. She won’t translocate the novel to a studio." Earlier while talking about the challenging role in Raazi, Alia said, "It's based on a true story and it's important to get the layers of the character right. I've been reading and re-reading the script for more than a month to absorb every bit of what the story holds. Meghna and I often sit and understand the character's psyche, which will hopefully enrich my performance.
