Lucknow: The Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court has dealt a major blow to Shayar Munawwar Rana, who has been in constant controversy through provocative statements. The high court has refused to stay his arrest. The risk of first the arrest of the son, then the SC/ST case, and now the arrest of Munawwar in the same case has increased. It may be recalled that Munawwar Rana had compared Maharshi Valmiki to the terror group Taliban. A case has also been registered against him under the SC/ST Act in Lucknow following the inflammatory statement. His arrest in the case is believed to be confirmed. To avoid this, he had filed an anticipatory bail plea in the Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court to avoid arrest.
A case has also been registered against Munawwar Rana at Hazratganj Kotwali in Lucknow for provocative statements. Rana had gone to the Lucknow bench of Allahabad high court in an attempt to avoid this, but the court has stayed the arrest of Munawwar Rana and categorically refused to quash the FIR. A two-member bench of the high court has decided to dismiss the application. During his statement in support of the Taliban, Shayyar Munawwar Rana had recently compared Maharshi Valmiki to the terror outfit. A case under the SC/ST Act was registered against him at Hazratganj Kotwali in Lucknow in the case. The All India Hindu Mahasabha and Social Concern Foundation in Lucknow had lodged a complaint with Hazrat Ganj police station. The Ambedkar General Assembly had also demanded that a case be registered against Munawwar Rana in the case.
Health deteriorated as soon as the petition is dismissed:-
Munawwar Rana has suddenly fallen ill after seeing his arrest confirmed after the high court dismissed the petition. His family conducted an inquiry at the SGPGI in Lucknow and found his certain level swelled. Rana's daughter Sumaiya Rana has said that her father Munawwar Rana has been undergoing treatment in PGI for a long time and has been suffering from many kidney problems. However, given the whole episode, Munavvar Rana seems to have pretended to be sick to avoid arrest.
