GANDHINAGAR: The All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA) has announced the winners of the pan-India Ayush Master Chef Competition, which began on March 31, 2022.

The winners were selected from a field of 30 contestants that competed in the final stage of the competition, which took place in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, at the Global Ayush Investment & Innovation Summit. Over 200 applicants submitted their entries in less than a fortnight, and 30 names were picked after screening contributions in various categories.

The Master Chef Competition comprised six entry categories: Cereal-based preparations, millets-based preparations, nuts/pulses-based preparations, fruits/vegetable-based preparations, dairy product-based preparations, and Fusion, all with the theme 'Ahara for Poshan.'

The contest's goal was to raise public awareness about the nutritional worth of indigenous products and cuisines, and the entries were judged by an international jury. In each of the six categories, three winners were chosen from the final round. The winner received a monetary award of Rs 1 lakh, with the first runner-up receiving Rs 75,000 and the second runner-up receiving Rs 50,000, respectively.

"It is heartening to see such an enormous response from food aficionados around the country who brought us their inventive entries that bring out the true flavour of India's traditional culinary riches," Prof. (Dr.) Tanuja Manoj Nesari, Director, AIIA, stated.
