New Delhi: The US has back objected to India's decision to buy an S-400 missile from Russia. A senior official of US President Joe Biden's administration has said India's decision to buy the S-400 Triumph missile defence system from Russia has emerged as a "problem" in relations between the two countries.

The U.S. official said the deal is not in anyone's interest in terms of security. However, he also said that the US and India have been strong partners and hope that the two countries will be able to resolve the issue through bilateral talks. Talking to media persons in New Delhi, Us Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman said that our policies have been public with any country that decides to use the S-400.

He further said that we think it is dangerous and it is not in anyone's security interests. However, even after that, ''I would like to say that India-US relations are very strong. The US imposed sanctions on turkey, a member of the NATO, for buying an S-400 missile system from Russia. In that case, the question now arises whether the US will impose similar sanctions on India as well.''
