Washington- US food giant Heinz has made a version of its well-known ketchup (Heinz Ketchup) from tomatoes grown in soils like Mars. This has been done as part of human efforts to live on Mars. Unlike the soil found on Earth, Mars soil is harder for crops.

Mars soil is known as Martian regolith. There is no presence of organic matter in the soil of Mars. At the same time, sunlight also reaches Mars less. Because of this, the tomato growing team discovered new techniques for growing them. One day humans on Mars will have to grow their own crop. In that case, the team working in this direction created a greenhouse-like atmosphere like Mars and used martian-like soil. They grew tomatoes with their help and then Heinz turned them into ketchup.

The team that grows these tomatoes says climate change on Earth is making it difficult to grow crops. In this way, crops can also be grown on earth. Former NASA Astronaut Mike Massimino explained that having a familiar taste when far away from home is essential for everyone's well-being and morale.
