Washington: US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo calls 'a new coalition of democratic countries' to deal with challenges posed by a totalitarian Chinese government, attacking China for its expansionist policies and allegedly covering the Coronavirus epidemic.

Mike Pompeo has asked all countries to ensure mutual exchange, transparency and accountability in partnership with China. Pompeo said that this speech was delivered in the Nixon Library on Thursday, nearly 50 years after former President Richard Nixon became the first President of the US to visit China. Pompeo said that today China is fast becoming dictator and more aggressive towards its enemies.

He further said, 'Do not repeat previous mistakes. Demands for the unification of democracies in Europe, Africa, South America, and particularly in the Indo-Pacific region, have been raised due to China's challenges. It is not for prevention. This is a new and difficult challenge that we have never faced before. Pompeo said, "We cannot face this challenge alone. United Nations, NATO, G7, G20, our combined economic, diplomatic and military strength is capable of meeting this challenge. Perhaps it is time to form a new group of like-minded countries, a new coalition of democracies.
