Islamabad: American woman Cynthia De Ritchie, who accused former Pakistan Home Minister Rehman Malik of rape, has a long association with controversies. Cynthia, one of the outspoken opponents of the Pakistan People's Party (PPP), made controversial remarks against former Pakistan PM Benazir Bhutto in one of her blogs. After which PPP activists had filed several FIRs against him.

It is noteworthy that the Federal Investigation Agency is investigating against Cynthia in Pakistan. After which she has accused many former PPP leaders. She claimed that she was raped in 2011 by former Home Minister and PPP leader Rehman Malik. Cynthia has also accused former Pakistan Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani and the Health Minister Makhdoom Shahabuddin of physical and mental torture.

She lives in Islamabad for a long time. Initially she had good relations with the leaders of the Pakistan People's Party, but later the situation deteriorated. Recently, she has attacked the PPP by tweeting one after the other.
