New Delhi: Coronavirus cases continue to decline in India. In the last 24 hours, 7,081 new corona cases have been reported. While 7,469 people recovered from corona and 264 patients died. Since then, the active case stake has gone up to 83,913, the lowest since March 2020. A total of 341,78,940 people have recovered. The total death toll so far has gone up to 4,77,422. Coming to vaccination, a total of 1,37,46,13,252 people have been vaccinated so far. Out of which 76 lakh 54 thousand 466 doses were given on Saturday.

ICMR said that 6641 lakh 9 thousand 365 samples have been tested so far, out of which 12 lakh 11 thousand 977 samples were tested on Saturday. In India, the total number of patients infected with the corona infection variant Omicron has gone up to 138 on Saturday. 12 cases were reported from Telangana, 6 from Karnataka, 4 from Kerala while 3 more patients were confirmed in Maharashtra. According to central and state officials, omicron cases have been reported in Maharashtra (43), Delhi (22), Rajasthan (17) and Karnataka (14), Telangana (20), Gujarat (7), Kerala (11), Andhra Pradesh (1), Chandigarh (1), Tamil Nadu (1) and West Bengal (1) in 11 States and Union Territories so far.

With 12 more new cases of omicrons coming up in Telangana, the number of infected with the new variant has gone up to 20. A bulletin by Telangana's health department said that out of 12 new patients, two came from "risk countries" announced by the Centre while 10 came from other countries. Samples of three patients are awaited. Six more cases of Omicron variant have been reported in Karnataka. Out of 6 cases of virus, 5 cases were reported in two educational institutions in Dakshina Kannada district. The number of omicron cases in the region has now increased to 14.
