Soon after the incident, BJP national president Amit Shah took a dig at Mr. Gandhi in a tweet by asking him not to intimidate the youth. The Karnataka BJP wrote in their twitter handler, “The police arrested some pro-Modi slogans in Mannata Tech Park in Bangalore. This is the real face of democracy in the Congress-JDS ruled state. This is a dictatorship, where freedom of expression and suppression of citizens is suppressed.”

Responding to the tweet on Karnataka BJP, Amit Shah asked why peaceful youths were arrested in Karnataka. "Hugs for 'Tukde Tukde' gang and arrest of peaceful youth raising pro-Modi slogans? Where are the champions of 'Free Speech'? Yuvraj (prince) of CONgress must know that time follows the course taken by youngsters. Stop intimidating youth of India, which has rejected your brand of politics," Shah tweeted. Former Karnataka chief minister and Congress leader Siddaramaiah said no one was arrested, but claimed that BJP-RSS workers attempted instigating the crowd “As a precaution, some were taken by the police and later let off.
