New Delhi: The opposition is continuously targeting the BJP-led central government over the Hindenburg-Adani dispute. Union Home Minister Amit Shah has attacked the opposition on this and has spoken about the Hindenburg-Adani dispute for the first time. However, he declined to comment on the controversy as the matter is currently pending in the Supreme Court.

Amit Shah said that it would not be appropriate for him to comment on the matter now, as the Supreme Court has taken cognizance of the matter. However, at the same time, he said that there is nothing to hide or fear for the BJP. Speaking to ANI, Amit Shah said, ''The Supreme Court has taken cognizance of the Hindenburg-Adani Row case. If the matter is under the cognizance of the Supreme Court, then it is not right for me as a minister to make any comment. But, there is nothing for the BJP to hide or fear.''

The Hindenburg-Adani row has turned into a major political controversy with the Congress and other opposition parties leveling allegations of favoritism against the government. Opposition parties raised the issue in the run-up to the budget session of Parliament, demanding an inquiry by the Joint Parliamentary Committee. Opposition parties have also attacked PM Narendra Modi on this issue. He has questioned the investment of LIC and some public sector banks in the Adani group. However, the government has rejected the allegations of PSUs and regulatory bodies. Along with this, the government has also issued a statement regarding the compliance of the norms. When asked about Rahul Gandhi's recent speech in Lok Sabha related to the Adani group, Amit Shah said, "It is for the Congress leader or his scriptwriters to decide what speech he wants to deliver."

Amit Shah Responding to Rahul Gandhi's allegation of crony capitalism against the BJP, Amit Shah said, ''There is no question. No one has been able to make such allegations against BJP to date. During their (Congress) time, the agencies, be it the CAG or the CBI, took cognizance of corruption and registered cases. There were scams worth Rs 12 lakh crore.'' When asked about the allegations made by Congress and other opposition parties that BJP has captured government institutions, Amit Shah said that they should go to court, the court is not under our control. Why don't they go to court? Even when the Pegasus issue was raised, I said to go to court with evidence. They only know how to make noise. Those who went to the court, the court took cognizance of Pegasus and also gave its verdict.
