BANGALORE: Union Home Minister and BJP's key strategist Amit Shah is embarking Mandya and Bangalore Rural districts in the electorally-key Old Mysore Region, on a two-day visit starting Thursday night. The visit will also see Shah closeted with party leaders in preparation for the upcoming Assembly polls.
The Union Minister will attend 3 events in Gejjalagere, Mandya, Palace Grounds, Bangalore, and Devanahalli, Bangalore Rural district, all related to the cooperative sector. He will also address a public rally in Mandya district today, December 30.
Ahead of Shah's visit, BJP National General Secretary BL. Santhosh slammed JD(S) for family politics. The JD(S)-organized "Pancharatna" Yatra was referred to as a "flop display" by the party. Dr. C.N. Ashwath Narayan, Minister for Higher Education, publicly acknowledged that Amit Shah's visit was intended to strategize and build the vote base in the southern Karnataka region.
Meanwhile, H.D. Kumaraswamy, a former chief minister and leader of the JD (S), responded by saying that Mandya district is not anyone's property. "Adanis and Ambanis may come to you. Poor people will come to me for their future," he said. "Let a rocket carrying Amit Shah land in Mandya. Will the populace reject us merely because BJP leaders beg them to?" Kumaraswamy asked a query.
On December 30 and 31, Amit Shah will take part in a number of events held in the Mandya and Bangalore Urban districts. He will speak at a public gathering in Mandya and is anticipated to go on the attack against the opposition parties, particularly the JD (S).
He will dedicate a massive dairy that cost Rs 260.90 crore to construct. He will go to Bengaluru's Karnataka Rajya Souharda Samyukta Sahakara Niyamita and essentially inaugurate a number of projects at the regional office of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police.
On Saturday at the Palace Grounds in Bangalore, he is also anticipated to attend the convention of booth presidents and booth-level agents.
The Vokkaliga vote bank affects more than 60 Assembly seats in the southern state. The BJP is prepared to increase its support in the south after increasing its base in north Karnataka by announcing a reservation quota for Panchamasali Lingayats and approving the Detailed Project Report (DPR) of the eagerly anticipated Kalasa-Banduri project, which would satisfy the thirst of major districts in north Karnataka. In less than four months, there will be elections for the Assembly.
